Sigh.

So, reading the updates out in Blog World has been pretty depressing lately... injuries, folks having to drop out of races due to health issues and serving jail time, etc. OK, maybe not jail time... but still. Injuries are not good.

I am still alive. Not injured. Just unmotivated to blog.

My runs have been lackluster lately. Hot, muggy, waking up at 4:15 AM to beat the heat during the work week. Lots of work, travel, stress, relationship drama, etc etc etc.

BLAH!!!!!!!!!

So... I have not felt like blogging. I am hoping to get a rejuvenated spirit. I am a mere 6 weeks from Chicago and I feel like I am losing momentum... fast.

My first step to getting out of my rut was to post here.

Now I am accountable. I will only run with a smile on my face from now to October 7th.

Deal!

I feel ya, dawg. I've been not feelin' the blog world recently, too. I know what it's been for me, but maybe all the traveling and hot running is sapping your motivation. Is your bathroom cleaning schedule lacking also? How about cooking inventiveness? A couple of good indicators there!

Buck up, camper. You'll be tapering in no time! You need some time on IoP with your toes in the sand and frozen drink in hand.
:-D

So this post was a breakthrough.

There will be more to post about over the remaining weeks between now and Chicago.

I'm running CM along with you. Think of the fun you'll be having.

I, too am having a hard time to blog. I'm in a hacker class, and then in the evenings trying to see the city. Anyhoo - just busy bee here. Sorry for your lack of motivation, it happens and you'll get through it, and like David said - you're almost close to taper. Too bad I won't be there with you. I"m one of the wimps that dropped out, but am content with my decision. You do travel a LOT, and that alone is tough on the body. You'll get through this! Know we are here!!

I feel ya. I have been up and down about Chicago all summer. Thatnkfully, I've been riding a fairly positive wave of momentum then past 6 weeks or so, but it's hard to stay focused for 4 months!

Don't worry chica!!! Everyone has their ups and downs. ;D ;D You'll get back to it! How about a run past shirtless guy? That will at least put a smile on your face if just temporarily LOL

Thanks for the words of wisdom and motivation, yall. I had a good run this morning (albeit a stepback week) so I am feel re-energized.

I guess from another school.
Don't think about the Taper. Think about your end goal, visualize yourself running through the finishline and how fantastic that will feel!!
Then think about the commitment you made to yourself to run this marathon, and the training you know and want to do to achieve your goal.
Get out there, with postive thoughts all the way through, and when taper comes, you'll be feeling antzy because you'll be ready to kick butt, and won't be allowed to run more than silly 3 to 7 milers!

I'm glad your run went well today!
Mine did too, so i guess i'm finally getting through my 2 weeks of being sick.

; )
